Gunflint Trail History at Cook County Higher Education/ North Shore Campus

Cook County Higher Education will host Chik-Wauk Museum and Nature Center for a special evening presentation. 

Barb Bottger, past president of the Gunflint Trail Historical Society will give a brief presentation on the history of the Gunflint Trail. How it was established, why it was created, and who used this 57 mile long trail.

Cheryl Hedstrom Dailey (no relation to the Hedstrom Lumber Company) will share stories and photos, about her experiences of growing up at the End of the Trail Lodge. Her family owned End of the Trail Lodge from 1946 – 1965.


This presentation will take place in Grand Marais at Cook County Higher Education/North Shore Campus.
